TRIM

Trim work through out a home can make a huge statement and should not be taken lightly.  The millwork you chose for your home play a large role in the overall style of your home.  Perhaps you like the warmth of a French country home or the clean lines of modern design, the trim you select will help achieve that look.  Along with our stock profiles, you may also choose to design a custom profile.  Trim is available in cherry, maple, birch, knotty alder, clear alder, mahogany, hickory, poplar, and finger jointed poplar.

 

Casing

Casing is the trim that surrounds your windows and doors.  A standard size is ¾” thick x 3-1/2” wide.  For a custom look you may increase the width to 4-1/4”.  Using a backband will also add interest and dimension.  View Casing Profiles

 

Base:

Typical base sizes range from 4-1/4” to 7-1/4” tall.  For custom application, two piece base boards may be used.  In many cases, we will use a large base in the public areas for a custom look and switch to a smaller base in private areas to keep costs down.  View Base Profiles

 

Crown

Crown is one last final touch to create a truly custom look.  Some homes use crowns in formal areas of the house such as the foyer and dining room.  Other houses use crown in nearly every room, including closets.  Crowns are stocked in sizes ranging from 3-1/4” to 7-1/4”.  Larger spaces call for larger more significant crowns.  Crowns pieces can be combined with other stock pieces to create multiple piece crowns that are sure to impress your guests.
